Remember the Ladies: Anne Sexton

Often associated with Sylvia Plath…they were contemporaries and friends; both spent time in mental institutions; both married unhappily…Sexton lived longer than Plath and received the Pulitzer for her work. She was also a university professor for a time. However, she grew dependent on drugs and alcohol and eventually committed suicide in the same method as Plath, by gassing herself to death.
